Who we are

We are and have been a virtual office since our inception. We found that the best person for us may not live in our area nor want to relocate. Most of what we do can be done remotely and our managers and analysts work in their own time from their desired location. Management and research disciplines are spread throughout the U.S., while work and performance are measured by the deliverable items assigned to each person.

Matthew Cornell

Matt is founder and President of Bridge Street Investors – setting research and investment strategy along with managing portfolios. Bridge Street has provided advisory and management services for mutual funds, hedge funds, pension funds, endowments, insurance companies, investment advisors, banks and trust companies since September, 2001.

Matt has more than 30 years experience in investment management. Prior to Bridge Street, he served as Senior Vice President and portfolio manager for State Bank (1998-2001); from 1992-1998 he was Senior Vice President and portfolio manager for Sierra Funds in Los Angeles for both equity and asset allocation portfolios; from 1990-1992 he was equity analyst and portfolio manager for Hughes Aircraft pension fund. While with Sierra, Matt helped design and manage the SAM (Sierra Asset Management) Funds now owned by Principal Financial Group.

Prior to Hughes Aircraft, Matt was a structural/design engineer at Long Beach Naval Shipyard.

Matt has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA in Finance from California State University Long Beach.
